#1 Little Snake River Rolls #3 Stock, 79-37 [PHOTOS, VIDEOS]

The top-seeded Little Snake River Rattlers proved too much for No. 1 last Saturday, 79-37. 3 Encampment. LSR pulled away in the second half, remaining undefeated on the season and securing first place in the South Conference in Class 1A six-man football. Bridger Cozzens accounted for 10 touchdowns as the Rattlers improved to 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in league play. The Tigers suffered their first loss, falling to 6-1 overall. They took a 4-1 lead in conference play.

Trailing 31-27 with 2:46 minutes remaining in the first half, Little Snake River scored 52 straight points to open the game. The Rattlers scored the last two goals of the first half when they had the ball and took a 40-31 halftime lead. After a 35-yard TD run by Cozzens to start the second half, the Rattlers recovered three straight onside kicks and scored on subsequent drives. LSR reached the running clock with 2:03 left in the third quarter after Cozzens intercepted a tip pass and returned it 46 yards for a touchdown.

Cozzens had a fantastic day. He finished with 354 rushing yards and 9 TD runs. In addition to the interception return for a touchdown, the senior had 35 defensive points.

LSR took a 13-0 lead. Encampment recovered and took the lead on a 10-yard TD pass from Gunner Henrie to Dashaal Baysinger with 2:20 left in the first quarter. That was the first of five lead changes in the first half. Cozzens' 36-yard TD run with 2:31 remaining in the second quarter gave the Rattlers the lead for good.

Henrie had three TD runs and two TD passes for Encampment in the loss.

WyoPreps visited Deke Latham and Bridger Cozzens after the win.

Little Snake River hosts Meeteetse in the first round of the playoffs at noon Friday. The camp chose runner-up and host Kaycee on Friday at 2 p.m
