Rain will continue tonight and there will be a rain/snow mix on Halloween

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Showers and storms are expected to continue this evening. At times the rainfall is moderate or even heavy. Storms are still not expected, but storms can lead to strong gusts of wind.

It is expected to rain again on Thursday morning. This second round will bring rain to most of central Wisconsin and a rain/snow mix to the Northwoods. When the area stops raining, we expect about 1 to 3 inches of rain. Most of us won't get any measurable snow, but some communities in the far Northwoods could collect an inch or two of snow on elevated areas. Roads and sidewalks will be less affected as they are still warm from the heat we have had this week.

Temperatures for trick-or-treaters vary. Some of us will be near Highway 29 and in the mid to low 40s to the south. If you're trick-or-treating in the Northwoods, there's a higher chance you'll be in your mid to upper 30s.

The rest of the week will feel a lot more like fall. High temperatures will be in the 50s to 55s for most of the weekend and early next week. More rain is expected from Sunday to Tuesday. It's too early to tell how much precipitation we'll get.
