The S.C. Attorney General announces grants to support crime victims in the Lowcountry

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson will announce major grants to help victims of crime in the Lowcountry.

Wilson will be joined by Louise Carson, executive director of the Children's Recovery Center, Thursday morning at 11 a.m. to talk about the funds going to state and local governments and nonprofits.

Grants will be awarded to groups helping victims in Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Georgetown, Hampton and Horry counties.

Wilson is expected to announce the specific agencies that will receive the millions of dollars in grants and how much has been allocated to each.

The private event to announce these details will be held at North Charleston City Hall.
