True Crime Carolinas covers the unsolved murder of a Charlotte millionaire's mistress

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – We're bringing viewers an all-new feature film series called “WBTV: True Crime Carolinas,” and I'll be hosting it.

It's part of WBTV's philosophy to be “On Your Side.”

We'll tell you stories about unsolved – and solved – crimes in the Carolinas that deserve your attention.

Some of these will be stories you will recognize, while others will be stories you don't know. A lot of things happened decades ago. Others are more recent.

We have come across many fascinating cases that we think you will be very interested to hear about. Our first story made front page headlines across Carolina and made national news.

The story was about a millionaire real estate developer from Charlotte and a secretary. He was married and had several children. She was a divorced mother of two – and his mistress.

She died under questionable circumstances. He was charged with murder after taking her body from the site to her home, where he convinced her 14-year-old son to tell police she had died.

We will bring you details of what happened in what many say was the OJ Simpson trial of its time. You can only watch it on Thursday, October 31st at 11pm on WBTV. I hope you tune in!

We hope you find these stories as fascinating as we do. And if you have any ideas or suggestions for true crime stories you'd like to see, please don't hesitate to email me here. We are happy to hear from them!
