4 people arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Wells County in mid-October

WELLS COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – The Wells County Sheriff's Office says arrests have been made in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in the county in mid-October.

According to the office, an armed robbery occurred on the night of Tuesday, October 15, in the 10000 block of West County Road 1100 South. At the time, the office said there was no threat to the public, but no suspects had been arrested.

On Wednesday, the Wells County Sheriff's Office conducted a series of searches at a home in Poneto, Indiana, as part of its armed robbery investigation. They say the series of searches yielded evidence and led to arrests.

According to the office, the following people were arrested:

  • 38 year old David Matthew Estel Watson of Poneto, IN
  • 31-year-old Sabbathshe El Y Israel from Ponteto, IN
  • 18 year old Marcus Frank James Randall of Bluffton, IN
  • 18-year-old Miles Elwood Walker Pogue of Bluffton, IN

Her preliminary charges include burglary, robbery, confinement, assault and theft, with additional charges possible.

The Wells County Sheriff's Office reiterates that there was no threat to the public associated with this armed robbery.

The Bluffton Police Department, the Wells County Probation Department and the Indiana State Police assisted the Wells County Sheriff's Office in this investigation.
