“Everest College Guy” recreates a viral ad from 2008 to encourage voting in the 2024 election

Babatunde Artunde, widely known for his iconic 2008 Everest College commercial, has recreated the memorable ad to encourage people to vote in the upcoming 2024 US presidential election.

In the original commercial, which aired frequently on daytime television, Artunde urged viewers to “get off the couch” and take control of their future through education. In this updated version, Artunde delivers a similar message, urging fans to “educate themselves” and take the election seriously.

“Are you serious? You're just going to scroll and look at memes all day while Election Day is coming up?” Artunde begins the video, recalling the original commercial. Wearing the same casual attire as in 2008, he talks about Project 2025 and describes it as an “extremist agenda” that could harm black, brown and working class communities He warns that the plan includes eliminating public schools, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and women’s reproductive rights.

Artunde concludes the video with an urgent call to action: “Without you we don’t exist… Get out there and make your voice heard.”

Fans reacted positively, with one commenting: “When the world needed him most…” and another asking: “Did you go back to the original parking lot?”

The 2024 presidential election is scheduled for November 5, and while Republican candidate Donald Trump denied involvement in Project 2025, the Washington Post reported that he was seen with its coordinator Kevin Roberts.
