Woman accused of stealing $600,000 from her boss is allowed to travel with restrictions

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars from her employer in 2023 has been allowed to travel with restrictions.

Ivey Jennings, 36, a former personal assistant who faces charges of receiving stolen property, appeared in court Monday for a bail hearing.

During the hearing, the court required Jennings to provide documentation supporting the claim of medical necessity for her travel restrictions.

According to the Shelby County District Attorney's Office, Jennings failed to provide required proof of her travel restrictions.

However, the defendant and the court agreed to only allow her to travel within Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

She must also surrender her passport and report to the office weekly.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the defendant had previously claimed travel restrictions due to a high-risk pregnancy.

Jennings is accused of using the First Horizon Bank account to purchase a $40,600 Lexus SUV from Montgomery Auto Group. Records show she placed the car title under her business name, Mimi Morton LLC.

She is also accused of spending $295,913 on credit to purchase miscellaneous items and spending $310,122 on faire.
