Gonzaga throttles Warner Pacific in exhibition game [photo gallery]

In its final exhibition game before the start of the 2024-25 regular season, the Gonzaga men's basketball team overcame a sluggish start on offense to defeat NAIA foe Warner Pacific 109-52 on Wednesday night at McCarthey Athletic Center.

The Bulldogs led the Knights by just two points midway through the first half before Mark Few and the coaching staff decided to increase the intensity on defense. A packed press led by Gonzaga's versatile wingers forced Warner Pacific into turnover after turnover. As the Zags took advantage of their opponent's mistakes, they went on a 43-8 winning run to end the first half and take a 64-27 lead.

The home team never took their foot off the accelerator as Gonzaga jumped out to a 17-0 lead right after halftime. Nolan Hickman led all scorers with 19 points, while Braden Huff and Michael Ajayi each had 14 points.
