The Los Angeles Dodgers, who won the World Series championship on Wednesday, will celebrate the title with a parade and Dodger Stadium event on Friday.

Dodgers parade tickets

The parade is a free public event, so no tickets are required (unlike the subsequent event at Dodgers Stadium).

According to the website, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will officially kick off the team's celebrations. The Dodgers will travel the 45-minute route in double-decker buses. You go from 1st Street to Grand Avenue and end at 5th Street. The parade ends at the intersection of 5th Street and Flower Street.

According to the website, fans are “strongly encouraged” to use public transportation due to limited public parking and road closures.

Following the parade, another celebration will take place at Dodger Stadium, 1000 Vin Scully Ave., at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Tickets will be available for this event and will be available in the team's official account

Tickets for the Dodgers celebration

For event attendees, parking gates will open at 8:30 a.m. and stadium entrance gates will open at 9:00 a.m., as noted on the team's postseason ticket page. You cannot enter the park without an event ticket. Fans who do not prepay for parking must present event tickets at the gates to enter the parking lot.

Goods and food are available for purchase. Prior to the team's arrival, there will be coverage of the parade on scoreboards and other entertainment at the stadium.

The event will be subject to Dodger Stadium policies and rules, including the prohibition of bringing in any signs, bags or items that are not permitted. A portion of the proceeds from the stadium event will be donated to the Los Angeles Dodger Foundation, the team's charity.

Why is this happening?

The Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 7-6 in the World Series on Wednesday in New York. The team was down 5-0 in the fifth inning, but came back to win the fourth game in a seven-game series.

The Yankees won Game 4 on Tuesday 11-4, extending the series.

Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman was named the World Series most valuable player with four home runs and 12 RBIs. He also hit a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning of the first game, securing the Dodgers victory.
