Midway Park man arrested for drug trafficking

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Midway Park man is behind bars after officials said a large amount of drugs were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to the Onslow County Sheriff's Office, this happened just before 11:00 pm yesterday near the corner of Piney Green Road and Rocky Run Road.

Officers say the traffic stop revealed the passenger, Timothy Scott, had illegal amounts of fentanyl.

The 43-year-old Midway Park man was charged with:

• Three counts of trafficking opium or heroin
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Manufacture a Schedule II controlled substance

Scott was jailed on $150,000 bond.

Deputies say a second suspect has outstanding warrants and is expected to face similar charges.
