These Steve Madden Jones boots look just like The Row: Review

When it comes to black ankle boots, I have a bit of a problem.

I currently own over a dozen different pairs in different materials, heel heights and silhouettes and pair them with everything from dresses to jeans. They're endlessly versatile, and somehow I always find new versions that I crave — like The Row's Zipped Boots ($1,490), which have been at the top of my wish list for the past few years.

So imagine my delight when I discovered a much cheaper alternative to the pricey pair: Steve Madden's Jones Boots ($130), which are identical in almost every way to their four-figure designer counterparts.

Like The Row's classic zip-up ankle boots – worn time and time again by stars like Taylor Swift, Zoë Kravitz, Dakota Johnson and Sofia Richie – Steve Madden's are made from durable leather and mounted on sturdy rubber platforms, making them suitable for use on anyone Weather are suitable.

They're also comfortable – we're talking out-of-the-box, no-break-in comfort. I'm a true size 10.5 and wear them up to 11 so I can wear them with thick socks and they fit perfectly.

And even though Steve Madden isn't exactly a luxury label, I was shocked by the buttery soft quality of the leather. These boots look and feel much more expensive than they actually are.

But don't just take my word for it; Thanks to their striking resemblance to The Row, these boots not only went viral on TikTok, but have also received tons of rave reviews online.

“I love this boot! “It's chunky but still looks elegant and is very light,” wrote one customer, also recommending shoppers size up half a size.

“I love these boots! They are extremely comfortable and stylish,” echoed another.

Just like their more expensive predecessors, Steve Madden's zip-up boots come in black leather (my personal favorite, of course), brown suede, and ivory nubuck. In fact, the latter is currently on sale at Zappos for under $100!

And if anyone asks you if you wear The Row, I won't tell if you don't.
