Prosecutors deny sharing a video of Sean “Diddy” Combs attacking Cassie

A federal criminal complaint filed against him in September cites the 2016 video of the attack, without naming Ventura, as an example of his alleged repeated physical abuse of women.

The singer, who dated Combs for ten years until 2018, had accused the music producer of rape and abuse in a civil lawsuit in November 2023, which the two settled a day after it was filed without her ex admitting any wrongdoing.

Combs had spoken out about the surveillance video that showed him grabbing, pushing, dragging and kicking Ventura in a hallway two days after the release.

“It's so hard to reflect on the darkest times in life, but sometimes you have to,” Combs said in an Instagram video shared on May 19. “I was totally exhausted. I've hit rock bottom. But I can do it.” No excuses. My behavior in this video is inexcusable.

Ventura is one of more than two dozen people who filed civil lawsuits against Combs last year alleging sexual misconduct. The producer, known for decades for throwing large, star-studded parties, has denied any wrongdoing.

Combs is currently in prison awaiting trial in May 2025 for his federal case. Read on for more information on this topic…
