Two Zags receive new NBA contract extensions

Monday was the deadline for rookie contract extensions and two Gonzaga legends other than the 201 Final Four squad finally got paid. Former teammates Jalen Suggs and Corey Kispert were selected 10 picks apart in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Orlando Magic guard agreed to a five-year, $150.5 million extension to his rookie contract. This massive new deal comes after Suggs was named to the 2024 NBA All-Defensive Second Team. The Washington Wizards forward agreed to a four-year, $54 million contract extension. Kispert averaged 13.4 PPG last season and is a career 38.8 3PT% shooter.

Since 2022, some other Zags have received raises:

Andrew Nembhard – 3 years/$59 million

Zach Collins – 2 years/$35 million

Brandon Clarke – 4 years/$52 million

Domantas Sabonis – 5 years/$217 million

Kelly Olynyk – 2 years/$26 million

Rui Hachimura – 3 years/$51 million

Gonzaga now has an active salary of $518,112,155 in NBA contracts. Chet Holmgren's big contact extension is coming before the start of the 2025-2026 season.
