The Milwaukee Bucks' disastrous defeats against the Memphis Grizzlies, Damian Lillard problems, Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors, Paolo Banchero's oblique injury, scores, results, highlights, latest news

The Milwaukee Bucks' slow start to the NBA season has reached an ugly low point with a 122-99 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ja Morant dominated with a triple-double as Milwaukee's defense was once again a major problem – they trailed 40-24 after the first quarter and had to come back after that. This dropped the Bucks to 1:4 this season, which is also the second-worst record in the NBA.

Milwaukee got within seven points midway through the second period before the Grizzlies ended the half with a 21-6 run and took a 70-48 lead into the main break.

Memphis maintained the upper hand in the second half, holding a lead of more than 20 points most of the way, including a 104-704 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the starting lineup tried to get the visitors back into the game late in the game, but the closest they came was just 18 points as both coaches cleared their benches with about five minutes left.

Antetokounmpo, who rivals reportedly hope might eventually demand a trade if Milwaukee's woes continue, dropped 37 points on 17 of 22 shooting and 11 rebounds.

The Bucks' second-highest scorer was Brook Lopez (12 points), while Damian Lillard scored four points on one of 12 shots – an unforgettable performance from the eight-time All-Star.

Morant (26 points, 10 rebounds, 14 assists) led all five Grizzlies starters in double figures – one starter missing Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart due to injuries – and improved to 3-3.

It's the start of a five-game West road trip for the Bucks, who fell to 20-27 overall in the Doc Rivers era and have a bottom-10 defensive rating this season.

In other results on Friday (all times AEDT), the Houston Rockets beat the Mavericks 108-102 in Dallas. Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs travel to Utah to face the Jazz and the Phoenix Suns play the Clippers in Los Angeles.

Elsewhere, ESPN's Shams Sharania reports that Orlando Magic's rising superstar Paolo Banchero is out indefinitely with an oblique tear of his right arm. The former number 1 will be re-evaluated in around four to six weeks.

Banchero averaged 29 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists in five games with the 3-2 Magic, including dropping 50 points against Indiana earlier this week.
