Man arrested and charged with arson in Sulfur church fire

SULPHUR, Okla. (KXII) – A man has been arrested in connection with the church fire in Sulfur.

The Murray County Fire Marshal said the Oct. 12 fire at Sheppard of the Hills Presbyterian Church had multiple causes, leading him to believe it was arson.

Ethan Vanderburg was arrested at the scene after he allegedly confessed to setting the fire.

Vanderburg is charged with arson, second-degree burglary and endangering human life during arson, among other charges.

He is in the Murray County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
