Oregon State Police on Thursday identified two men killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 22 at the intersection of Perrydale Road late Monday morning.

According to OSP, David Carl Stauber, 69, of Keizer and Alejandro Zukowski, 63, of West Salem died at the scene of the accident, which was reported at 11:47 a.m

Police said a Ford Taurus driven by a 74-year-old Sheridan man stopped northbound on Perrydale Road, then turned onto Highway 22 and struck a westbound GMC Sierra 3500 driven by Stauber. Zukowki was a passenger in the pickup.

The impact caused the GMC to move into the eastbound lane and was struck on the passenger side by an 18-wheeler driven by an Independence man.

OSP said the drivers of the Taurus and the 18-wheeler were uninjured.

Highway 22 was closed for 4.5 hours while police investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
