Two more arrested after shooting at trash bag full of weed – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police officials announced Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, that two more people were arrested after a fight in the parking lot of a Wawa in West Goshen Township led to a shooting earlier this month.

According to law enforcement officials, Zubair Bethea, 20, and Omar Beard, 31, both of Chester, were arrested on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Delaware County.

They were charged with robbery, conspiracy, drug possession and related charges, officials said.

Police officials said the pair were believed to be accomplices of 21-year-old Frank Johnson of Coatesville, who was arrested Oct. 19, 2024, after a fight and shootout over a trash bag full of marijuana.

Officials said police responded to this incident after two men – reportedly Johnson and Zahir Scott, 18, of Wilmington, Delaware – were involved in an altercation over possession of a trash bag that officials claim was filled with marijuana , in the parking lot of a Wawa and TD Bank on the 700 block of East Market Street in West Goshen Township.

Officials said the altercation led to a shootout, in which Johnson and Scott shot at each other before they both fled the scene.

Through further investigation, Bethea and Beard were identified as accomplices of Scott, who officers believe attempted to take the black trash bag containing marijuana from Johnson.

Shortly after the shooting, Johnson was pulled over later that day and found with a handgun on the floor of his vehicle, police said.

Officials said Scott was discovered at a nearby hospital, where he went after suffering a gunshot wound to the foot. Police said they recovered Scott's handgun after he threw it in the grass behind a gas station in West Goshen Township.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the West Goshen Township Police Department at 610.
