Jeff Ulbrich: I was frustrated and angry with Malachi Corley, that will never happen again

Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich was unhappy with rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley, who was about to score a touchdown but dropped the football just inches from crossing the goal line.

“To be honest, I was definitely frustrated and angry at the same time,” Ulbrich said of his feelings after Corley’s stupid play. “But what a great opportunity for this kid to grow and learn from. I promise you that in 10 years, when he’s still in this league, this will never happen again.”

Ulbrich was asked what he said to Corley afterward.

“First of all, you can’t do that. And secondly, you owe us something,” Ulbrich told Corley.

It's incredible that NFL players, who have a clear path to the end zone, sometimes drop the football inside the 1-yard line, but this has happened several times. It's the dumbest mistake a player can make on the football field, and players make it again and again. Although Ulbrich is confident that Corley won't be able to do it again.
