Man accused of strangling dog

LANCASTER, Ky. (WKYT) – A man is accused of strangling a dog.

Haigan Penman, 28, was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

In a Facebook post, the Garrard County Sheriff's Office says Penman strangled the dog with a plastic bag and belt until it died.

Penman then allegedly threw the dog's body into a nearby ditch.

Penman is charged with animal cruelty and torture of a dog.

He is currently being held at the Jessamine County Detention Center.
