Babymonster releases “Drip” and “Clik Clak” videos

The group releases their debut album

YG Entertainment's rising K-pop group Babymonster has released their highly anticipated debut album. drops. The full-length album features seven new genre-spanning tracks, including one of the title tracks composed by legendary rapper and singer-songwriter G-Dragon and a new remix of her record-breaking debut single “Batter Up.” ” and her latest single “Forever”. This marks YG's fastest turnaround in releasing a full-length album after a rookie group's debut.

To celebrate, the group released the new music video for title track “Drip” following the release of “Clik Clak” on Wednesday. YG recently teased the first half of “Clik Clak,” a hip-hop track that features all seven members rapping. The teaser received almost six million views in just two weeks.

Babymonster is the first girl group to be formed under the K-pop label YG since Blackpink, and they are already known worldwide as a group to keep an eye on.

drops follows the success of BabyMonster's record-breaking EP [BABYMONS7ER]which was released in April and has sold over 400,000 copies. The EP contains Babymonster's hits “Batter Up”, “Sheesh” and “Like That”, which were written for the band by global superstar Charlie Puth.

“Sheesh” peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Global Charts (excluding the US) and No. 33 on the Billboard 200 Charts, remaining for 18 and 14 consecutive weeks, respectively. The music video debuted at #1 on YouTube's global music video rankings and will soon reach 300 million views. The music video surpassed 100 million views on YouTube in just ten days, setting a new record for the fastest debut song by a K-pop girl group to reach this milestone. The previous record was set by Babymonster's debut single “Batter Up,” which reached 100 million views in 18 days. The song reached 22.5 million views in 24 hours and has since broken two YouTube streaming records – reaching 100 million views in just 18 days and 200 million views in 53 days.

Babymonster recently performed in Tokyo at Japan's largest music festival, Summer Sonic 2024, alongside some of the biggest names in the global music scene, including Jon Batiste, Maneskin, Lil Yacthy, Laufeny, Tyla and Greta Van Fleet, as well as at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, where they were excited about their live performance. They have also made a splash in the fashion world and serve as global ambassadors for Adidas.
