2 dead, 6 injured in Halloween night shooting in Orlando

Two people were killed and six others injured in a Halloween night shooting in downtown Orlando, Florida, police said.

The suspect, 17-year-old Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, was taken into custody, Orlando police said.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired just after 1 a.m. Friday, and within minutes officers witnessed a second shooting, police said.

One person was killed at the first crime scene and the second victim was killed at the second crime scene, police said.

Surveillance video captured the chaos of people fleeing the scene as officers arrested the suspect.

The six surviving victims were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition. said the police. According to police, the victims are between 19 and 39 years old.
