Garrett Wilson's “ridiculous” catch in the Jets game reflects the Giants' legendary peak

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Garrett Wilson made the best catch of the NFL season so far The New York Jets won 21:13 against the Houston Texans on Thursday evening.

While running in the back of the end zone, Wilson jumped up and intercepted a 26-yard pass from Aaron Rodgers with his right hand, giving the Jets the lead in the fourth quarter.

“Oh my God, ridiculous catch,” said Amazon spokesman Kirk Herbstreit.

“I just threw one there. He made an incredible catch,” Rodgers said.

Wilson finished the game with two touchdowns and nine catches for 90 yards. Through nine games, he leads the Jets with 663 receiving yards and is tied for the team lead with five touchdown receptions.

Nuances of Odell Beckham Jr.'s iconic highlight

Wilson's stunning catch is similar to Odell Beckham Jr.'s iconic reception in the same end zone at MetLife Stadium during a game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys in 2014.

Beckham, the Giants' first pick in the NFL draft this year, jumped and caught a 43-yard pass from Eli Manning with one hand while falling on his back in the end zone.

“You’ve got to be kidding! That’s impossible,” NBC anchor Cris Collinsworth said on the show.

A number of NFL analysts and former players called Beckham's catch the greatest of all time at the time.

Both catches were made in front of a national prime-time audience, but only Wilson's catches resulted in a win. The Giants lost to the Cowboys 31-28 that evening in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
