The driver was wanted in a hit-and-run accident that injured a 74-year-old woman

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Nashville Police say officers are searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a 74-year-old woman near Madison Thursday evening.

MNPD said the woman was struck while attempting to cross Gallatin Pike at Welworth Street.

Witnesses told police the woman was attempting to cross the intersection around 7:45 p.m. when the driver of a red sedan (possibly a Toyota) struck her.

Police said she was taken to Skyline Medical Center where she is being treated.

“Anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver/vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous,” MNPD said.
