Ozark police are investigating a Halloween stabbing

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) – Ozark Police and the Dale County Sheriff's Office are investigating a homicide.

According to police, officers responded to a stabbing in the 100 block of Frank Marshall Road on Thursday evening.

They found 43-year-old Eric Lamont Eutsey of Ozark lying on the street with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Dale Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators searched a nearby home and car and spoke with witnesses. Based on these witness statements, Marcus Lee Slater, 58, of Ozark was identified as the suspect.

Witnesses reported seeing Slater running toward Faust Avenue after the stabbing. Ozark police dispatched a K-9 tracking team to locate Slater with the help of the Dale County WASP Air Unit, Dothan K-9 Division and ADOC K-9 Division.

He remains at large and is wanted for murder.

Ozark police are asking anyone with information about Slater's whereabouts to contact local law enforcement.
