No students were injured in the bus crash Friday morning on the way to Viera High

No students were injured, although they arrived late at school.

No students were injured when a Brevard Public Schools bus was involved in an accident on its way to Viera High School Friday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol officials.

According to Tara Crescenzi, a spokeswoman for FHP, the accident occurred around 8:27 a.m. at Spyglass Hill Road and Bradberry Court in Melbourne. It involved a bus carrying eleven students from Viera High School and a 2019 Honda Civic driven by a 16-year-old male.

Details of the accident, such as which vehicle struck the other, were not immediately available, and the accident was under investigation late Friday morning.

Viera High School Principal Heather LeGate sent an email to parents after the crash, assuring them that the 11 students on board were uninjured.

“The information provided to us so far by FHP is that there were no injuries and that there are 11 VHS students on board,” she said, adding that the students would arrive late at school.
