After a small gas leak, Fruitvale High School is considered safe to return

FRUITVALE, Texas (KLTV) – Students at Fruitvale High School are back in class after being evacuated due to a possible gas leak.

According to a post from Fruitvale ISD, Centerpoint has cleared the high school to return after testing. The small leak was due to a valve in the science lab, which has since been completely decommissioned.

According to Superintendent Rebecca Bain, a plumbing company will replace the valve.

A previous post from Fruitvale ISD said the high school building was evacuated Friday morning due to the smell of gas at the school.

The post states that the Fruitvale Fire Department also responded to the situation.
