K-9 Ryker helps make an arrest on a drug crime in Springfield Township

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) – A Springfield Township Police K-9 assisted in a felony drug arrest Thursday afternoon, according to a social media post.

According to the post on Facebook, officers initiated a traffic stop on a Chevrolet SUV traveling on South Arlington Road around 3:05 p.m

Police said “signs of drug paraphernalia and indicators” led K-9 Officer Ryker to be deployed on an outdoor sniffing spree around the vehicle.

Officers found 62 grams of methamphetamine, 24 oxycodone pills, 4 other pills and drug paraphernalia.

According to the post, the driver was charged with multiple felony counts of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The driver was also taken to the Summit County Jail.
