1 dies in crash on I-26 in Orangeburg County, troopers say

BOWMAN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – One person died in a crash on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County Wednesday afternoon.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers, the crash occurred at 2:24 p.m. on eastbound I-26 at the 161 mile marker, just eight miles north of Bowman.

According to police, a 1986 Mercedes Coop was traveling in the left lane when it collided with a 2018 concrete mixer that was traveling in the right lane.

The driver of the Mercedes Coop was injured in the accident and taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to police.
