Man sentenced to 25 years in prison for sex crimes against minors

SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – A Simpsonville man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to sexual assault of a minor.

In January 2021, Simpsonville police were called to a home after receiving a report from a concerned citizen that she had found nude images of children on a man's phone.

Police later confiscated the cellphone, searched the device and found additional images and videos. Some of the content was about suspect Andrew Scott Walker sexually abusing one of the children, and his voice was identified, officials said.

Officials said the children have also been identified.

Walker was convicted of first-degree sexual exploitation and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

He will also be required to register as a sex offender once he is released, agree to a confiscation order and sign a permanent victim restraining order.
