Martha Stewart claims neighbor Ryan Reynolds isn't funny in real life

Ryan Reynolds' goofy personality could all be an act.

Martha Stewart claimed the “Deadpool & Wolverine” star, who happens to be her neighbor, isn't as goofy as fans think as she appeared alongside founder and CEO Ankur Jain on Bilt Rewards' “Rent Free” game show occurred in November.

“You want to know something? He’s not that funny in real life,” said the 83-year-old lifestyle guru. “No, he’s not that funny. He’s very serious.”

She mentioned Reynolds, 48, and tried to guess who the most fun celebrities were to hang out with.

“He's probably only on the list because he covers up in his films and you can't see his face,” she joked.

Next, she guessed whether Brad Pitt and George Clooney made it – which they didn't.

“I would love to hang out with these guys,” she remarked.

“It’s really nice hanging out with George,” Stewart later added.

Although Stewart was wrong about Hollywood heartthrobs, she said she was sure her close friend Snoop Dogg would be on the list.

When asked to rank her top picks, the author of Martha: The Cookbook: 100 Favorite Recipes, with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen ended up naming “cute” Taylor Swift as the top pick, followed by Snoop and then Clooney.

When Jain expressed shock that Reynolds wasn't ranked, Stewart doubled down on her thoughts.

“He’s a good actor,” she confirmed. “He can be funny, but he’s not funny.”

“Maybe he can be funny again.”

“I’m going to get in trouble,” she added playfully. “He’s my neighbor.”

Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively own a $2 million home in Bedford, NY, which happens to be close to Stewart's 153-acre property, which features an orchard, greenhouses and space for horses and donkeys.

Stewart became friends with Reynolds and Lively, 37, when they bought a home in their neighborhood.

“She moved to my neighborhood with Ryan a few years ago – before they got married, they bought a house right around the corner from my house. And they came over, not to borrow sugar, but just as friends,” she recalled to HuffPost in 2014.

They later moved to a more private apartment, but still live near Stewart.

“They are very friendly, very nice people,” she added.

“Shy in a way – not shy at all on screen if you've seen any of Blake's films – but very shy when I'm there in person.”
