What you should know

The Magic and Cavaliers are 5-5 against each other since December 2023, but not for much longer. The Orlando Magic take a road trip to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. After a loss in a game the Magic were expected to win, they now face the more difficult task of proving themselves against the odds.

The Magic are heading into this game after oddsmakers set last week's over/under low at 227.5, but even that ended up being too high. On Wednesday, they fell just short of the Bulls with a score of 102-99. The loss hurts even more since Orlando was ahead 48-28 with 8:50 left in the second round.

The Cavaliers had now won four straight (a stretch in which they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and picked up their fifth win on Wednesday. They left Los Angeles reeling with a clear 134:110 win. Cleveland has made a habit of blowing opponents off the field and has now won three contests by 19 points or more this season.

The Cavaliers' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jarrett Allen led the way by posting a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds.

The Cavaliers worked as a unit and finished the game with 37 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since April.

The loss in Orlando dropped the record to 3-2. As for Cleveland, the win increased its record to 5-0.

Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: The Magic have made it easy to make deep shots this season, averaging 14.8 three-pointers per game. However, it's not like the Cavaliers have any problems in this regard, as their average is 14.8. Given these competing strengths, it will be interesting to see how their clash unfolds.

While only the Cavaliers took care of their fans in their last game, neither team managed to take care of them. As for the next game, the Cavaliers are the favorites as the experts expect them to win by eight points. They could be worth a quick bet as they have covered the spread in the last five games they have played in.

Opportunities

According to the latest NBA odds, Cleveland is the heavy favorite against Orlando by 8 points.

The line has shifted a bit towards the Cavaliers, as the game began with the Cavaliers as 6.5-point favorites.

The over/under is 217 points.
