Charlotte Hornets vs. Boston Celtics: How to watch NBA online, TV channel, live stream information, start time

3rd quarter report

The Celtics are on the road, but they don't look any worse for wear. They appeared to be the better team at 92-86, but there is still a quarter to play.

If the Celtics keep playing like this, they will increase their record to 5-1 in no time. On the other hand, the Hornets will have to be content with a 2:3 record unless they turn things around (and quickly).

What you should know

The Celtics will play the entire four quarters on Friday, but they are expected to have things taken care of long before then. They will hit the road to challenge the Charlotte Hornets at 7:00 p.m. ET at the Spectrum Center. Keep an eye on the score for this game: The two teams have posted some high scores in their previous games.

The Celtics fought well in their overtime game against the Pacers on Wednesday, but ended up with a less than desirable result. They fell just short of Indiana with a score of 135-132. Boston's loss marked the end of a five-game winning streak dating back to last season.

The Celtics' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayson Tatum, who scored 37 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Derrick White, who went 8-for-9 en route to 23 points. The dominant performance also gave White a new career high in field goal percentage (88.9%).

In the meantime, it's always nice to win, but it's even better to do so behind a season-high score (just ask the Hornets). On Wednesday they managed a 138-133 victory over the Raptors. With this win, Charlotte increased its scoring average to 118.5 points per game.

Several players put in solid performances to lead the Hornets to victory, but perhaps none better than Nick Richards, who posted a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. When it comes to rebounding, Richards is on the rise as he has grabbed 12 or more rebounds in the last three games he has played. The team also got some help from Cody Martin, who went 9 for 11 en route to 25 points.

The Hornets smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. This strong performance was nothing new for the team: They have grabbed at least 10 offensive rebounds in five straight games since last season.

Boston lost for the first time this season, going 4-1. As for Charlotte, the win brought them even at 2-2.

Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: The Celtics have made it easy to hit deep shots this season as they averaged 21 three-pointers per game. However, it's not like the Hornets have any problems in this regard, as their average is 17.2. Given these competing strengths, it will be interesting to see how their clash unfolds.

In the last game in April against the Hornets, everything was going well for the Celtics as the Celtics escaped with a 131-98 win. In that game, the Celtics built a 69-43 halftime lead, an impressive performance they'll look to repeat on Friday.
