Men's and women's cross country finish sixth at the Big Sky Championships

POCATELLO, Idaho – The Vandal men and women placed sixth at the 2024 Big Sky Cross Country Championship hosted by Idaho State on Friday.

Sam Fulbright continued to lead the Vandal men, finishing 26th (25:03.5). Juniors Miles Ferguson And Zac Knapp were the next two Vandals to cross the finish line, with Ferguson in 33rd (25:30.7) and Knapp in 34th (25:32.2). Shea Mattson was Idaho's fourth runner to pass the tape and finish the race in 37th place (25:40.8). Student Lorez Herrmann finished 38th for Idaho (25:41.6).

Leah Holmgren was the first woman from Idaho to complete the 5K and finished in the top 20 at the Big Sky Championship for the first time in her career with a 19th-place finish (17:53.6). Second semester Constanze Paoli was the second Vandal in the top 30, finishing 28th (18:09.1). Freshmen Pia Kircher And Jesse Redding were the next two Vandals to cross the finish line, finishing 33rd (18:16.8) and 43rd (18:25.8) in their first conference meet. Fellow newbie Alex Terry was the last runner to score for Idaho, finishing the game 49th (18:36.7).

Northern Arizona won both the men's and women's titles. This is the Lumberjacks' fourth straight conference win.

Idaho will travel across the Washington border for the third time this season on Nov. 15 for the 2024 NCAA West Regional in Colfax, Washington.
