Group of DCPS educators and parents call for return of JASMYN partnership after controversy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A student was arrested Thursday after a “large” fight broke out near the end of a high school football game.

Duval County Public Schools said it is investigating the fight that occurred at the football game between Andrew Jackson and First Coast High School.

The school district told News4JAX that student-athletes were involved.

A student who did not attend Andrew Jackson or First Coast was arrested. DCPS did not say why the student was arrested or what caused the fight.

“We have higher expectations for our students, particularly our student-athletes, and appropriate school discipline is implemented,” a DCPS spokesperson said in a statement.

Duval County School Police and DCPS are investigating.
