Wife arrested in connection with death of Detroit Lakes man, Angola

A Detroit Lakes woman was arrested last week in connection with her husband's death in Africa.

Beau Shroyer, 44, was killed Oct. 25 while on a mission trip to Angola. According to a statement from the Lakes Area Vineyard Church, Shroyer's wife, Jackie, has now been arrested.

Senior Pastor Troy Easton added that Shroyer was “killed in a violent, criminal attack.”

Meanwhile, arrangements are being made to care for the couple's five children.

“I am so sorry and I simply have no words to express my disbelief and sadness at this news,” Easton wrote to the congregation at Lakes Area Vineyard Church. “What I can tell you is that the Shroyer children are doing well and we will work with SIM USA and SIM Angola to ensure they continue to be that way.”
