What you should know

The Nuggets and Timberwolves have been evenly matched at 5-5 since March 2024, but not for much longer. The Denver Nuggets remain on the road on Friday to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Nuggets have suffered more turnovers lately as they have increased their point total in the last three games.

The Nuggets are fresh and scoring the most points they have scored all season. They secured a 144-139 W over the Nets on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular because Denver was 17 minutes behind with 10:49 left in the second quarter.

Nikola Jokic continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, posting a triple-double with 29 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists. His night made it three straight games in which he scored at least 30 points. Aaron Gordon was another key player, going 8-for-11 en route to 24 points and five rebounds.

The Nuggets worked as a unit and finished the game with 31 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since April.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves entered their game against the Mavericks on Tuesday without a home loss, but there is a first time for everything. The Timberwolves took a 120-114 hit in the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks.

Despite the loss, the Timberwolves got strong performances from Anthony Edwards, who went 7-for-13 from distance for 37 points plus six rebounds, and Julius Randle, who had 20 points plus seven assists and seven rebounds. Additionally, Edwards also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which was his highest since March.

The win brought Denver back to level at 2-2. As for Minnesota, the loss dropped their record to an identical 2-2.

The Nuggets will be hoping to beat the odds on Friday as pundits believe they are headed for a loss. This is the first time they have played away as underdogs this season.

The Nuggets fell in their last meeting in May against the Timberwolves, losing 98-90. Can the Nuggets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
