This stylish new 'Yellowstone' garment features surprising technical pleats

Shacket sensation

In recent years, we've come to appreciate the overshirt (also known as the “shacket”) more and more, not only for its styling but also for its layering versatility.

If it's a little cooler outside, you can throw one over Henley and you're good to go. When temperatures drop, you can layer a sweater, denim shirt, and/or flannel shirt underneath to combat the cold.

Antique pewter buttons and decorative stitching add style to the jacket's surprisingly technical fabric.

This new shacket interpretation from the California-based brand with the Secratariat-inspired name goes from the general to the specific and adds a technical twist: It's made from 14-ounce waxed Scottish cotton canvas.

Regular GP readers know that this material has a history that goes back centuries – dating back to when sailors discovered that rubbing linseed into canvas made it more water-resistant and later began cutting jackets from it.
