Anthony Edwards, T-Wolves delight NBA fans with win over Nikola Jokić, Westbrook, Nuggets | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets on Friday night in a rematch of last season's Western Conference semifinals.

Led by Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves defeated the Nuggets at Target Center with a final score of 119-116.

Edwards finished the game with 29 points, four rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes of play. He shot 11-23 and hit seven three-pointers, including one free throw with about 25 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

The Timberwolves trailed by 10 points with less than four minutes to play, but quickly erased the deficit and secured the win.

There was no love for love between the two Western Conference rivals, as both Rudy Gobert and Christian Braun were assessed technical fouls for an altercation following a Braun dunk.

Fans were amazed at Edwards' late-game heroics.

Despite the defeat, Nikola Jokić still showed an efficient performance. The three-time MVP finished the game with 26 points and 13 assists along with nine rebounds. He shot 8-for-16 from the field and hit two of his three attempts from distance.

Russell Westbrook struggled to find his shot, hitting just one of his eight attempts from the field. He recorded five points, six rebounds and five assists.

The two teams will face off again on January 25th
