“Waltzing With Brando” premieres in Turin with Billy Zane in tow

Billy Zane will be making his way to the Turin Italian Film Festival, where the world premiere of the highly anticipated indie film “Waltzing With Brando” directed by Bill Fishman, in which Zane plays Marlon Brando during the period in which he is based prepared to star in “Waltzing With Brando.” The Godfather” and “Last Tango in Paris”.

“Waltzing With Brando,” based on the memoirs of legendary actor-architect Bernard Judge, tells the story of how Brando plucked Judge, then an idealistic architect in Los Angeles, out of his stable existence and convinced him that he should do it Build the world's first ecologically perfect retreat on the tiny uninhabitable Tahitian island of Tetiaroa.

The majority of the film was shot on Tetiaroa, where Brando and Judge sought to advance sustainable architecture and practices.

“Waltzing With Brando” is slated to be Torino's final film, which will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of Marlon Brando's birth with a 24-title retrospective of films about the groundbreaking two-time Oscar winner, known for his naturalistic acting style and rebellious streak.

The upcoming 42nd edition of the festival, taking place November 22-30, will be the first under new artistic director Giulio Base, who is reimagining Italy's preeminent event for young directors and indie cinema.

Base is understandably proud that Zane, known for his memorable role as Cal Hockley in Titanic, is making the trip with Fishman to promote the film. “You won't believe it: He's obsessed with Marlon Brando,” says Base Diversity.

As previously announced, Ron Howard's survival thriller Eden, starring Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby and Sydney Sweeney, is scheduled to open in Turin with the director in tow, marking the film's international festival appearance following its Toronto release.
