Police officers injured in bar fight in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — Two Salt Lake City police officers were injured late Friday in an overnight brawl involving up to 40 people.

Officers originally responded to a report of a fight at Manny's Again at 1700 South Main Street just before midnight. When they arrived, they broke up the argument, but soon got into another argument that started just a few minutes later.

According to Salt Lake City police, between 30 and 40 people were involved in the second brawl, which due to its size forced a citywide response from other officers.

Officers used pepper spray to subdue those involved in the fight. The brawl ended with the arrest of six participants on various charges, including public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

The two injured police officers were treated at the scene and did not need to be hospitalized.
