Birmingham man sentenced to 10 years in prison for gun and drug offenses

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday, Oct. 23, on gun and drug charges.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 24-year-old Damion Deonte Wade of Birmingham was sentenced to 120 months in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon and possessing a firearm with the intent to distribute fentanyl.

According to the plea agreement, on April 11, 2023, Birmingham police officers stopped a vehicle for a tinted windshield. Police said Wade was driving that vehicle.

Officers said they clearly saw drugs, drug paraphernalia and firearms. They searched the vehicle and said they found two digital scales, methamphetamine, fentanyl, a Mak-47, a Glock 10mm extension magazine and an AK-47 magazine.
