The Toronto Maple Leafs are in St. Louis tonight to take on the Blues and Joseph Woll may have accidentally leaked some exciting news.

The Leafs recently suffered an embarrassing 5-1 loss to the Blues on home ice at Scotiabank Arena, and they will look to get revenge on the Blues tonight at their home barn.

The Leafs are coming off two straight wins this week against the Winnipeg Jets and Seattle Kraken and would like to keep the good times going. The Leafs have a 6-4-1 record and would like to make it a third straight season.

During the early stages of the 2024-25 season, Anthony Stolarz was the preferred goaltender for Leafs head coach Craig Berube. Joseph Woll, who made a significant commitment to CAMH this week, has yet to make back-to-back starts this season, but that could change tonight as Woll missed something after Friday's practice that perhaps he shouldn't have .

Berube told the media on Friday that his team's goalkeeper for Saturday had not yet been decided. However, when Woll met with the media, it certainly sounded like he was playing.

“I grew up there and have a lot of great memories there, a lot of family and friends,” Woll told reporters. “I’m just looking forward to going there and seeing them and playing there, so it’ll be good.”

Woll was ecstatic against Seattle on Thursday, stopping 24 of 25 shots and posting a .960 SV% in the 4-1 win. If he finds himself in the starting lineup for the second straight season, it may simply be because Craig Berube is looking to boost his confidence and create a little more competition between his goalkeepers after an injury delayed the start of Woll's season.

Whether Woll or Stolarz is in goal on Saturday, the Leafs are in a good position with two very capable goaltenders. However, early indications are that Joseph Woll will be in goal for tonight's Hockey Night in Canada coverage against the Blues.
