Barkov shines in Finland, Ehlers hat trick, Kaprizov takes the lead, Saturday streamer (November 2nd) – DobberHockey

Aleksander Barkov put on a show for fans in his native Finland, scoring a goal and adding three assists in the Panthers' 6-4 win over Dallas on Friday. The Florida captain has put up six points in just two games since returning from a lower-body injury, so hopefully you've managed to get him back in your lineup.

Finland's Esa Lindell led the Stars in this game with a goal and an assist. Lindell has picked up points in consecutive games after going pointless in his first eight games.

Sam Reinhart picks up where he left off last season. With two goals and an assist on Friday, Reinhart has four goals in his last three games and nine goals in 12 games. Reinhart maintains his shooting speed from the last two seasons (2.8 SOG/GP). His 26.5 SH% would normally be a concern, but it's only slightly higher than his shooting percentage from last season (24.5 SH%). Any regression will have to wait.

Aaron Ekblad contributed three assists, his first points in five games. Based on previous scores, Ekblad appears to be potentially overvalued in fantasy leagues (51% Yahoo/81% Fantrax). Its peripherals are okay, but not spectacular, and it also averages under 1.5 SOG/GP. Additionally, the Panthers would rather try relatively untested options on the top power play rather than veteran Ekblad, who has experience there.

The youngest blueliner on this top power play is Uvis Balinskis, who has just a single point in 12 games at even strength this season. I'm not sure I would necessarily sign him until the power play points come in. The Panthers tried Adam Boqvist early in the season, but Boqvist only scored two points (both on the power play) in nine games. games and has been a healthy scratch in the last two games. Florida still has one of the better power plays in the league, but the loss of Brandon Montour this offseason means they will have to address that area at some point this season. Maybe they'll address that need with a trade before the deadline.

The Winnipeg Jets continue to roll and earn their 10thTh Winning 11 games this season. That's exactly how long Kyle Connor's points streak lasts. Connor received one assist, giving him 18 points in those 11 games. If Connor is shooting at a 20% clip, he will eventually cool down a bit. Still, he's averaging four shots per game on the season and has taken at least that many shots in each of his last four games, which is a good sign. The skills are definitely there.

Nikolaj Ehlers scored three goals and added a power play assist on five shots to power the Jets. Ehlers has been red hot recently with 13 points in his last eight games and 15 points in 11 games this season. Finally, Ehlers is finally on the Jets' top power play, with four of his points this season coming on the man advantage. In a contract year, Ehlers cashes in really early. But like many players who have gotten off to a hot start, the metrics show that there should be a bit of a regression. However, I wouldn't consider Ehlers a best seller.

Dmitri Voronkov made his season debut for the Blue Jackets. He went without a point in 13 minutes of ice time.

That's seven multipoint games in a row for Kirill Kaprizov. In that span, Kaprizov has 15 points, including a goal and an assist Friday against Tampa Bay. As I write this, Dolla Bill sits atop the NHL standings with 21 points in 10 games. A number that allows Kaprizov to put up that many points, assuming he doesn't get tired: Kaprizov has logged at least 20 minutes in every game this season, except for the Wild's first game. He probably won't reach the 172 points he's currently aiming for, but the second 100-point season of his career is certainly possible.

Ilya Sorokin has made good starts in each of his six games this season. On Friday, Sorokin made 32 saves in a 4-3 win over Buffalo. Sorokin secured the victory despite the Islanders losing two defensemen (Adam Pelech and Mike Reilly) to injuries in the second period. He may alternate with Semyon Varlamov in the starting lineup, but in a time when odds are becoming increasingly inflated, he is a first-class goalkeeper.

Bo Horvat and Maxim Tsyplakov each scored a goal and had an assist for the Isles. Tsyplakov is currently in the top five in rookie scoring with seven points in 11 games.

Mathew Barzal missed this game as he is sidelined with an upper body injury.

With an assist on Friday, Tage Thompson extended his point streak to eight games. During that span, Thompson scored six goals and six assists. Thompson also has a six-game assist streak – one assist per game, in case you haven't done the math yet.

Igor Shesterkin faced a lot of hits this week. After the Capitals fired 45 shots at him on Tuesday, Shesterkin stopped all but one of the Senators' 41 shots on Friday. That was the difference as Rangers won this game 2-1. Shesterkin has had good starts in each of his last six games, four of which turned out to be wins.

Alexis Lafreniere scored one of the Rangers' goals and set up the other goal for Artemi Panarin. Lafreniere is on a points-per-game pace so far (10 PTS in 10 GP).

Jacob Markstrom's return to Calgary as a New Jersey Devil went well for most of the game. With just over five minutes left in regulation, former Devil Blake Coleman broke the scoreless tie, Jonathan Huberdeau scored less than a minute later and Coleman fired his second goal of the game into an empty net, sealing a 3-0 win for Calgary . With the win, the Flames ended a four-game losing streak.

Markstrom's former backup Dan Vladar stole the show by stopping all 22 shots he faced, posting his first shutout in three seasons. Vladar alternated with Dustin Wolf for a Flames team that, until recently, was better than expected. Vladar is widely available in fantasy leagues and is at least a solid streaming option.

Huberdeau continues to be inconsistent. After coming off with five points in his first two games, he entered Friday with just two points in his last eight games. Huberdeau has just three assists in 11 games and a blistering SH rating of 31.3, which aren't positive signs for a player whose point total usually includes a lot of assists.

Andrei Kuzmenko sat on the bench in the third period and finished the game with just 10 minutes of ice time. He has no points in his last three games and no goals in his last seven games. Defensive issues usually put him in a corner, so his presence in Sunday's Battle of Alberta showdown is something to keep an eye on. Once Kuzmenko's ice time comes to an end, it will be time to look elsewhere.

Here are some weekend streamers. I'm taking players from teams that play on Saturday and Sunday, namely Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Toronto and Washington.

Mason Lohrei – I'm not sure Lohrei will stick with the Bruins' top power play long term, but he's there as Charlie McAvoy (0 PTS in the last 9 GP) tries to find his game. Lohrei himself hasn't picked up a point in his last five games, while the Bruins as a team have struggled recently. You could resort to Lohrei if it's difficult to find strong defenders in your league.

Teuvo Teravainen – I'm probably concerned with the weak players today. A player who hasn't scored any points in his last six games might not be the strongest recommendation, but Teravainen is still in line with Connor Bedard. Turbo can be a hot and cold player, and he was hot early in the season as he started the season with seven points in his first five games.

Matty Beniers – With six points in his last four games, Beniers could finally take his chances as the second overall pick in 2021. He's only 16 percent of the roster at Yahoo, so now would be the time to get in.

Max Pacioretty – As mentioned yesterday, Patches is on a scoreline with John Tavares and William Nylander. He also has four assists in his last two games. At Yahoo it is only 9 percent represented and at Fantrax it is 30 percent represented.

Connor McMichael – I also mentioned McMichael in the Ramblings yesterday.
