Police seek suspect in shooting in northwest Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Roanoke police have identified and are searching for a suspect in a shooting in northwest Roanoke.

According to police, Frederick Lynell Wiley, 46, of Roanoke, is wanted for malicious wounding.

The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Friday in the 3600 block of Ferncliff Ave. NW. Officers found a man with what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, Roanoke police said.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
