(CBS DETROIT) – A Macomb County man is charged in connection with drug sales resulting in death and possession of child pornography.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, the 36-year-old man is charged with delivery of a controlled substance causing death, delivery of less than 50 grams of fentanyl, delivery of a controlled substance less than 50 grams and three counts of sexual battery Material against children charged.

On November 17, 2023, a 30-year-old woman overdosed near Romeo Plank Road and Clinton River Road in Clinton Township. According to prosecutors, police investigations revealed that the woman's husband allegedly sold the drugs that led to her death.

An arrest warrant was issued for the man on Tuesday. According to the prosecutor's office, when executing the warrant, police discovered that the man had cocaine on him and discovered child sexually abusive content on his phone.

“The defendant’s alleged actions reflect a deeply disturbing disregard for both human life and the well-being of our most vulnerable,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in a news release Friday.

A probable cause hearing in connection with the deadly drug case is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12th. A hearing is scheduled the next day on the charge of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.
