Has Purdue football decided on its starting QB over Northwestern?

WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue football coach Ryan Walters said the Boilermakers will play two quarterbacks this week.

The question remained who would be the starter.

Both quarterbacks took snaps of Gus Hartwig during the pregame while throwing routes to the receivers. When the Boilermakers ran 11-on-11 simulations, Card took the first-team snaps.

Card last played against Wisconsin on Oct. 5 until he started Saturday's game.

The second-year starter has struggled this season. Card is 71 of 112 for 738 yards in five starts. Card has seven touchdowns and four interceptions, numbers boosted by going 24-for-25 for 273 yards and four touchdowns in a season-opening 49-0 win over Indiana State.

Browne started the last two games against Illinois and Oregon.

After an impressive second half in a 50-49 loss to Illinois, a game in which Browne threw for 297 yards and ran for 118 yards, Browne came back down to earth against top-ranked Oregon.
