Laurens Co. officers arrest man after seizing large quantities of drugs in October

LAURENS COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Laurens County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on drug trafficking charges on October 25 after an investigation in collaboration with the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office uncovered a significant amount of narcotics.

Deputies report executing search warrants at various locations in the Waterloo area on October 25th.

The following items were found and confiscated:

  • 66 grams of cocaine
  • 150 grams of meth
  • 2,594 grams of marijuana
  • 22 grams of crack cocaine
  • 97 dosage units of a Schedule IV controlled substance
  • 85 dosage units of a Schedule IV controlled substance
  • more than $20,000 in cash

Deputies said Harvey Jurell Cunningham of Waterloo was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking in meth or cocaine base (200g or more but less than 400g)
  • Cocaine trafficking, 3rd or subsequent offense
  • Trafficking in meth or cocaine base (100g or more but less than 200g)
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Scheduled Controlled Substances, 3rd or Subsequent Offense
  • Trafficking in Meth or Cocaine Base, 3rd or subsequent offense
  • Possession of a weapon during a violent crime

Laurens County Sheriff Don Reynolds said after the investigation, “This is a significant amount of drugs that is no longer found on the streets of our county.” I commend the deputies and investigators involved for their good work. Hopefully the justice system will do its job and not allow this behavior to continue any further than it already has.”

Cunningham is being held without bail at the Johnson Detention Center.
