Mechanic reports killing angry customer with machete in Hialeah

HIALEAH, Fla. — An argument between a 36-year-old driver and a 29-year-old man who worked for a mobile tire repair service ended in a fatal shooting Saturday in Hialeah, police said.

According to Lt. Eddie Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Hialeah Police Department, accused Michel Lope Montes de Oca Brandon Hurst of installing a used tire instead of a new one.

According to Rodriguez, Hurst told officers that Montes de Oca was so angry that he threatened him with a machete in the area of ​​West Second Avenue and 29 Street.

Hurst reported that when Montes de Oca attacked him with the machete, he grabbed a gun and defended himself. According to Rodriguez, Hurst shot several times and Montes de Oca died.
