'16 and Pregnant' star's cause of death revealed

HENRICO, Va. (Gray News) – The cause of death of a former MTV reality TV star has been revealed.

According to multiple media outlets, “16 and Pregnant” star Autumn Crittendon died as a result of fentanyl and para/meta-fluorofentanyl poisoning.

The Virginia Department of Health ruled her death an accident, People reported.

Crittendon died in July at the age of 27.

Autumn (Oxley) Crittendon, a former cast member of MTV's “16 and Pregnant,” died at age 27.

First responders were called to a reported medical emergency at a residence in the Henrico area around 3 p.m. on July 20.

When officers arrived, they found Crittendon unresponsive inside the home and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crittendon is best known for his starring role in the fifth season of the popular reality show. She gave birth to her son in 2014 as part of the program.

Since appearing on the series, Crittendon has also given birth to another son and daughter.

MTV's “Teen Mom” ​​franchise released a statement in July saying it was “deeply saddened” to learn of her death.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
