The big draw of the UFC's trip to Edmonton this weekend suffered a major blow when heavyweight slugger Derrick Lewis was removed from the card on Friday with what the company described as a “medical issue (not related to weight loss).” but the show must and will go on.

It's the third time the action has taken place in Alberta's northernmost major city, and it's not as if the 13 fights remaining are entirely without merit. In fact, the main event features two of the top three flyweights in the world, both with their eyes on a win and a title.

Former champ Brandon Moreno, now in second place behind champion Alexandre Pantoja, has lost two straight split decisions in five rounds and will look to avoid a third straight loss when he takes on the No. 3 contender Amir Albazi competes. Albazi is undefeated in five fights in the UFC and has lost just once in 18 professional appearances five years ago.

Another former champion, two-time strawweight queen Rose Namajunas, continues her hunt for another belt in the women's flyweight division, where she will face third-ranked contender Erin Blanchfield in the co-main. Namajunas, ranked fifth, is 2-1 since moving up from 115 pounds and Blanchfield, just 25, had won six straight in the Octagon before losing a decision to now second-ranked Manon Fiorot in March.
